Lulu’s Shawarma

Tammy Barnes and Rizgar Rada are the dynamic duo running Lulu’s Shawarma out of the tiny brick building at 32 John St. N. on the northeast corner of King William in Hamilton’s downtown core. The shop, which comfortably seats 24 and is a popular stop for takeout, has dozens of framed awards decorating its lilac-coloured walls. The majority read “Winner for the Best Shawarma.” Many of their customers are known by name, some travelling long distances just for their Middle Eastern cuisine.
